Hillside Dairy, LLC

There is nothing better than growing up on a family farm according to Mark Steffes. Mark and his wife, Missy, along with their kids, Curtis, Katelynn, and Courtney operate Hillside Dairy, LLC in Mount Calvary. Their dairy operation located in this small community in Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin was founded in 1960 when Mark’s Grandfather bought the farm.

Mark was born into it and farming has always been a part of his life. He now looks forward to the future of their farm as the fourth generation of his family continues to get more involved in the day to day operations. He is proud of the traditions and commitment to agriculture established by his family and is encouraged when he sees his kids want to be a part of it.

Working with the cattle day in and day out can be a challenge, but it has always been a favorite part of the job for Mark. “We are always trying our hardest to produce high quality milk,” he said. “We serve an important role as members of the agriculture community, we get to be a part of feeding the world.”

Additional connections with the community include coaching volleyball and basketball at New Holstein Middle School, membership in the Fond Du Lac AgriBusiness Council and involvement in the New Holstein FFA.

Country Visions appreciates the opportunity to share the story of the Steffes family and their farm for this week’s Farmer Friday post. Continue to find joy in the work that you do. We wish the best to your family and your operation at Hillside Dairy, LLC!
